If nutrition is the foundation for a healthier life, why do we often neglect it? Some people have the discipline to work out 5 days a week, but fail to put their nutrition first! This has to change. We are on a mission to help people have a good relationship with food and guide them to long term success. So, how can we start building that foundation?

First, we must understand that we can never reach optimal health and performance if we aren’t dialed in with our nutrition. There is a misconception that working out offsets a poor diet. This is not true. Here is some perspective for you… If you do 10 burpees every minute for 60 minutes, you would burn around 600 calories. HA! Good luck with that approach. So, let’s change our mindset and understand how important it is to put the correct amounts of the right food into our bodies.

The next step is always the hardest, but taking ACTION is critical. Unfortunately, most people don’t know where to start because there is so much misguided information. It is easy to get overwhelmed with the number of different “diets” out there.

We have seen the best results when people join one of our challenges or individual nutrition coaching plans. We act as your filter and help guide you every step of the way. We keep it simple and focus on helping you create healthier habits.

To really set you up for long term success, having layers of accountability and motivation are crucial. After all, most people know that they should be eating more veggies, but they don’t. We find that Nutrition Challenges are always fun and engaging, and can really give you the jumpstart you need.

Our Challenges are done in a big group and we base the results off of percentages… that way it levels the playing field for everyone participating. We will be launching a 28-day challenge in early June. It will be better and more involved than any Nutrition Challenge we’ve done in the past. And, guess what? It will be a Partner Challenge. So, whether it’s your favorite WOD buddy or a family member, start scoping out your partner because everyone is invited to participate (CCF Athlete or not).  We will be releasing more information regarding the challenge in the coming weeks. So, stay tuned!

But, don’t wait until early June. Start off with one thing that you can change today. Begin laying a foundation now. Maybe it’s cutting out sugary drinks or prepping your lunch for the week. Whatever it is, start now. Just like having a gym buddy or a go-to friend for partner workouts, find someone to help hold you accountable, and you do the same for them.

So, to recap… first you need the right mindset. Then you need a clear plan or program that will guide you every step of the way. Finally, accountability and motivation will ensure that you can stick it out for the long haul.  If you still have trouble and need some guidance, I’d be more than happy to meet with you.
